Meet Dr. Michael J. Cohen
Dr. Michael J. Cohen: Dr. Michael J. Cohen “Dr. Mike” was born and raised in Queens, NY and graduated from Benjamin Cardozo High School. He attended Baruch College C.U.N.Y in pursuit of an accounting degree. After a ski injury, he was helped by his family friend a Chiropractor, and the results were quick. He went skiing two weeks later. In 1985 Dr. Mike switched careers and attended Life University School of Chiropractic in Marietta, GA.
After graduation from Life in 1988, he moved back to NYC and married Tracey in 1989. They stay active with their three daughters Rachel, Jessica, and Danielle, and standard poodle Brownie. Dr. Cohen has continued to practice Korean Tae Kwon Do since 1975 and trains weekly in Union City with Master Choi working toward a 4th degree black belt. Dr. Cohen was the Medical Director of the XIV Pan American Tae Kwan Do games held in Santo Dominigo Dominican Republic in 2004 and is the current Medical Director of the NJ State Taekwondo Association. Dr. Cohen practiced in Great Neck, LI then the Upper East Side of Manhattan before opening the Fair Lawn Office in 1993. The Fort Lee Office opened in 2003.
Dr. and Mrs. Cohen are very active in their synagogue Temple Beth Shalom and both hold positions on different boards. From 2004 to 2006 Dr. Cohen was President of the Fair Lawn Jewish Community Council. Since 2004 Dr. Cohen has volunteered as a member on the Fair Lawn Planning Board. Dr. Cohen is still active in the Chamber of Commerce street fairs, and routinely does corporate Health Workshops and private in-home health care classes.
